GoRaffleIt is the brainchild of young Dublin Tech Entrepreneur Jonnie O’Malley.

He contacted us to discuss his idea of a raffle platform initially for charities and individuals to have a bit of fun using the age old tradition of raffles with a modern digital twist.

The initial steps of this project where to assess the needs of such a platform, how it would look and function.

Goraffleit is essentially a social network platform but with an e-commerce twist, the planning phase was quite indepth as we had to take into consideration a lot of things related to security, user experience, legalities etc.

After 5 months to design, architect and build this powerhouse of a website.
Registered members can put their old goods, events or offers up for raffle. People then share and take part – then after 14 days the winner is chosen by our competition algorithm and all proceeds are securely transferred to their account, however if all tickets are not sold within 14 days each person gets refunded and the raffle ends automatically.

The site itself is a completely custom job built using Laravel and Angular as well as a whole host of other technologies and has seen some impressive traffic generating ‚ā¨500k+ in one month during COVID-19 lockdown which was a real test of its durability and also the infrastructure necessary to keep it running.
